Dynamic Pass Boxes, on the other hand, are equipped with HEPA or ULPA filters, motorized blowers, and pressure differentials. They are designed for transferring materials from non-clean to clean areas (or between areas of different cleanroom classifications). The internal airflow—usually vertical or horizontal laminar—flushes out contaminants before allowing transfer, ensuring the integrity of the cleaner environment. Dynamic pass boxes are essential in high-risk zones such as sterile pharmaceutical production, BSL labs, and electronics cleanrooms, where air purity is non-negotiable.

In terms of benefits, static pass boxes offer cost efficiency and simplicity, while dynamic pass boxes provide enhanced contamination control and regulatory compliance. Both types support interlocking systems to prevent simultaneous door openings, but only dynamic units actively contribute to maintaining cleanroom integrity.
